Here we go...

The last 24 hours have really been something. First Jordan was set apart as a full time missionary by our stake president last evening. He received a wonderful blessing. This morning we completed the packing and we were off to the MTC. As with everything the church does, it is super organized and we were taken care of at every turn. We were sitting in the chapel waiting for the program to begin when they told us that the fire alarm had gone off and we needed to evacuate. We were only out of the building for a few minutes. It seems that someone cooked a potato in a microwave for way too long. We were soon back in the chapel and the program was underway. We sang "Called to Serve", saw a short video and then the time came. The mission president told us to use the bandaid method and get it over quick. Jordan gave us each a hug, said he loves us, he said he was going to work and he was off. It is an experience that I can not find words for. As we looked around the room, other families were sharing the same experience. You could sense the same feelings being shared by all. The realization that this is it, it is here. We are so happy that he has taken this step, but we are feeling a little lost in the house. It seems pretty empty.
